These are a few rules on how to treat web content. These rules don’t

just apply to my webpage, it applies to every single page out there on the

internet. You may use this piece of text on your own webpage; the only thing

I did with this was translate it from Dutch to English and write this little intro.

“Content”  refers to everything on the webpage. The images, the text, everything.

A few rules on how to treat web content:

    1. Respect the copyright on all content.

    2. Always ask the author permission if you want to use content.

    3. Don’t trust what someone else says: only the author can give permission to use content.

    4. Always make clear agreements on usage and (financial) compensation.

    5. Only use content for the goals that have been agreed on.

    6. Always try to discover who the author of the content is. Don’t use it if you don’t know who the author is.

    7. Always add the name of the author with content.

    8. Don’t edit content without permission from the author.

    9. Beware of rights other people might have on content. Ask them for permission too.

    10. Always give the author a proof copy of a publication.

When there have not been made specific agreements, all the rules as specified on the page

“Terms and Conditions” apply.
